You may already be aware but the End of Year concert is fast approaching. This year we are teaming up with our fellow Year 3’s and neighbours in Room 18.
This years concert theme is Superstars. After brainstorming some ideas, listening to songs and looking at film clips we came up with a short list on which we voted. The winning Song was ‘I’m Still standing’.
Most of the students know this song from the movie Sing, however it was originally sung by Elton John so it fitted the Superstars theme perfectly.
For Costumes we are going for colour so we are wanting brightly coloured clothes, wacky novelty type glasses (something Elton John wore often). Students could even have feather boas or wigs.
Students were given a copy of the song lyrics last week to practice at home. Apologies if you have already heard the song a million times over 🙂 but keep encouraging them to practice. We have the chorus down pat, but those versus can be a bit tricky.

I hope all the students slept well Wednesday night and have recovered from Camp. I had a wonderful time and i hope all the students did too. I was so impressed with everyones behaviour, the way they got involved in activities, the independence they showed and the way all three classes interacted with one another. A huge thank you to our fantastic parent helpers and to Narnu Farm for having us all.
Here are a few photos I took. As each adult on camp was responsible for a group of students you may find that many of these photos are of the same children. Once the other teachers and parents have the opportunity to share our photos, i will post more variety.

Also students are bringing home a camp note tonight with more information and a list of what to bring. I have included a photo of the note just in case ☺

The challenge this week was to use only paper and masking tape to create a chair that could support a stuffed toy- George ☺
Students worked extremely well in groups and were all successful.
This will lead into next weeks Team Work Tuesday Challenge, where students will use newspaper and masking tape to make a chair that can support a person. Can it be done?? Stay tuned

Just a reminder to keep those camp consent and medical forms coming in and that payment is due by the end of week 2. Apologies for the mistake on the note. It says payment is due by the end of week 2 but says November instead of October.

I hope everyone has had a fabulous holiday and made the most of the beautiful sunny weather we have had over the holidays, including today. I look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow well rested and hopefully germ free 😀
Can you believe we are about to start the last term of the year? And what a busy term it will be. 9 weeks thats will fly by.
This term students will be pleased to find out that they will have PE back. Unfortunately that means this term Music with Ms Woodlands will be missed. However with the end of year concert to prepare for this term, students will still be involved in lots of music and dance.
Then of course we have CAMP. That’s right CAMP!! Get excited mums, dads and students 😀
