Presentations

Over the year students in Room 17 have presented some great speeches and it has been wonderful to see them grow in confidence along the way.

There have been great Power Point slides, colourful posters and students who bring in hands on things to show us.

The speeches so far this week have been no exception.

We have had lots of different topics so far, from cars, sport, animals, famous places and even chocolate. Yum!

Today we had carnivorous plants. I never remember to take photos as I am always busy listening, watching and taking notes. However with such an unusual topic I had to snap a few.

Here are a few photos of Emma sharing her speech on carnivorous plants. She did a great job and had a captivated audience.

We Also had Drew who shared his passion for a sport he plays, Inline Hockey. He was able to bring in all his equipment to show us and even suited up to give us a demonstration

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the students on the speeches they have shared this year. It’s a shame i have to miss the ones being shared on my days off. Also thank you to the parents for the support you have given your children to complete their presentations.

End of Year Concert

2

Posted by kristagill | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on November 20, 2017

You may already be aware but the End of Year concert is fast approaching. This year we are teaming up with our fellow Year 3’s and neighbours in Room 18.

This years concert theme is Superstars. After brainstorming some ideas, listening to songs and looking at film clips we came up with a short list on which we voted. The winning Song was ‘I’m Still standing’.

Most of the students know this song from the movie Sing, however  it was originally sung by Elton John so it fitted the Superstars theme perfectly.

For Costumes we are going for colour so we are wanting brightly coloured clothes, wacky novelty type glasses                (something Elton John wore often). Students could even have feather boas or wigs.

Students were given a copy of the song lyrics last week to practice at home. Apologies if you have already heard the song a million times over 🙂 but keep encouraging them to practice. We have the chorus down pat, but those versus can be a bit tricky.

Camp Photos

I hope all the students slept well Wednesday night and have recovered from Camp. I had a wonderful time and i hope all the students did too. I was so impressed with everyones behaviour, the way they got involved in activities, the independence they showed and the way all three classes interacted with one another. A huge thank you to our fantastic parent helpers and to Narnu Farm for having us all.

Here are a few photos I took. As each adult on camp was responsible for a group of students you may find that many of these photos are of the same children. Once the other teachers and parents have the opportunity to share our photos, i will post more variety.

Enjoy the weekend
